Theft Replacement Program – Terms and Conditions
1. Program Overview
The Theft Replacement Program provides a free replacement bike in the event of theft, subject to the terms and conditions outlined below. This program is valid for the 1 year of your bike's ownership from the date of purchase.
2. Eligibility
To be eligible for the Theft Replacement Program, customers must:
- Purchase the Theft Replacement Program at the time of buying their bike
- Must be a Ride Recover customer
- Own the original bike (not transferred or resold).
- Must have purchased the appropriate plan for your bike's value
3. Program Duration
Each plan is valid for the 1 year of your bike's ownership from the date of purchase.
4. Theft Reporting Requirements
In the event of theft, the customer must:
- Report the theft to local law enforcement within 24 hours of discovery.
- Provide an official police report to our customer service team within 3 days of the report date.
- Submit a formal inquiry, including all requested documentation such as proof of purchase, official police report, and the bike's serial number.
Please note:
Filing a false police report is a criminal offense. Depending on state law, it can result in misdemeanor or felony charges. Misleading police officers by making a false police report amounts to a crime against the criminal justice system itself.
Civil liability
The person who filed the false report can be held responsible for any damages caused to the accused party. This can include compensation for legal expenses, emotional distress, and damage to reputation
5. Exclusions
This program does not cover the following:
- Theft due to negligence (e.g., leaving the e-bike unlocked or unprotected).
- Bikes used for commercial purposes, including delivery services or rental businesses.
- Bikes stolen while outside of the country of purchase
- Accessories or personal property attached to the bike at the time of theft.
6. Replacement Process
Upon receipt and validation of the theft claim:
- We will provide a replacement bike of the same model or, if unavailable, an equivalent model of similar value.
- The replacement will be shipped to the original address registered with the program, unless otherwise specified.
- Customers are responsible for any shipping or replacement fees related to the replacement.
7. Limits of Liability
- This program allows for one replacement per registered bike. After one replacement, the program is terminated for that unit. You may purchase another theft replacement for your new unit if you decide to.
- The Theft Replacement Program is non-transferable and non-refundable.
8. Termination
The Theft Replacement Program will terminate immediately if:
- The customer sells or transfers ownership of the bike.
- A theft claim is approved and a replacement is provided.
- The 1 year protection period expires.
